The Board
Meet the board who give Wild Mountains’ its direction.
“With a focus of creating a space for environmental education and consciousness, the organisation is positioned well to lead a dynamic range of programs and events over the next four years, particularly at a time when climate action and behavoural change are critical.
I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Residents
Many people have lived at Wild Mountains over the years, choosing to be residents at this unique place that requires a special commitment to living more lightly on the planet. The co-founders, Richard and Susan Zoomers, continue to reside at Wild Mountains and have played a key role in constructing each building on the property. Their lifestyle serves as a powerful example of lighter living, influencing choices in purchasing, eating habits, and resource management. Richard and Susan are pioneers in this eco-conscious approach at Wild Mountains, showcasing how communal efforts are essential in promoting sustainable living practices.
Joining the community in 2010, Justin and Lizz Hills found a welcoming home thanks to Richard's and Susan's inclusive demeanor. Sharing a strong belief in sustainable living, their bond with the residents deepened, contributing to the growth and development of Wild Mountains. Living together fosters a culture of shared meals, collaborative ideas, and mutual support among the residents, reinforcing the ethos of the Wild Mountains community.
Volunteers
Our volunteers play a crucial role in making Wild Mountains an extraordinary organiSation. Without their dedication and support, we would not be able to effectively restore the land, run our programMEs smoothly, and maintain and enhance the center throughout the years. We genuinely appreciate each individual who has contributed to the Wild Mountains journey.
